Cider Rhuys

A.K.A. the champagne of ciders

A journey to rediscover traditional hard cider

This is our story - From France to the U.S.

It all started when we, two Frenchmen living in the U.S., originally from Brittany — the western region of France — couldn’t find the hard cider we used to drink.

We decided to start a search for that cider from our youth. After tasting many beverages produced from our birthplace, we found Cidre de Rhuys. It’s such an incredible and traditional cider that we decided to import it so our friends and families could enjoy it here in the U.S.

We’re certain that you will like it as much as we do.

And if you’re asked what Rhuys means, tell them it’s the name of the peninsula where everything happens.

We are proud to offer a genuine French hard cider produced in a very traditional way since 1928, by three generations of fathers and brothers.

It has the distinction of being fruity, yet slightly tart. The first nose is fascinating with its ripe, fruity, sweet and fresh tones. Then quickly, the fruit takes over and the small bubbles caress your palate.

Our cider is made of 20 kinds of apples (yes, twenty!), all picked up from local orchards. It is fermented over several months. Neither sugar, nor water, nor preservatives have been added to this nectar. It is not pasteurized either, guaranteeing an authentic traditional product that will provide a wonderful experience.

You can drink this beautiful beverage on its own. No ice please! Or you can create great cocktails mixing it with bourbon, rum, cranberry or most popular, with a black currant liqueur to make a classic Kir Breton. Don’t forget to serve it chilled (45-50°F).

We're very proud of the awards we've received.

“Imported Breton mainstay — It’s a perfect introduction to ciders from this famed region, with funky and ripe bruised apple aromas, and inviting acid that finishes off-dry and round”.

“Ripe, sweet apple aroma with a hint of vanilla, followed on the palate with dry, crisp, fruit flavors, a hint of spice, and a slight tartness”.
